1) What inspired you to write this book?
2) According to you, what is a true oxymoron?
According to me, Oxymoron is bringing the two polar opposites, two completely different concepts together. However, if we base it on real-life I suppose, the meaning changes altogether. Each and every person is a perfect example of a living oxymoron. We make up and combine contradictory features and qualities be it in our thoughts, in our decisions, in our feelings, our emotions, vision and so on and so forth. Thus, I would say that every human who is in flesh and blood is an ideal oxymoron in himself.
3) How readers will connect with it?
4) Verses are into 4 categories, why is that?
5) Book is completely in free verse. Why did you choose verses as the medium to share your understanding?
6) What key takeaways that readers will have from the book?
After reading the book, they shall feel their emotional nerve being hit. It would take them to a state of clarity. It would strike the cord and arouse a sense of empathy and pleasure in the readers. The poems have an implied meaning to them and thus, shall compel the readers to think and analyze the poems in the deepest of ways.
7) You seem to be juggling between college and your book, how did you manage that?
8 ) Poetry is a subtle art of capturing world through life, what you believe that life in an oxymoron is trying to capture?
Life in an oxymoron is trying to capture the moments of conflicts, contradictions, and paradoxes in a person’s lifetime. It is bringing out the complicated feelings the maze of emotions, the flood of thoughts, the complexity of human relationships and intricate designs of understanding of self. It poses a question on everything and leads you on a journey of self-discovery.
9) How to lead a life without oxymoron? Is it possible?
Nehru has talked about how one can live without contradictions in his essay Indian philosophical approach from his book Discovery of India. He says that we have lost a sense of unity and harmony in our personalities that persisted in the people in the earlier eras. And sadly, we haven’t till now been able to find a unity in ourselves in the present era. This, he says, can only be achieved by trusting our instincts, by having and maintaining a social harmony and by understanding the last orderly law of universe with its connection to self. While it is hard to disagree with him, I feel it is impossible to get rid of oxymoron as today we have become the very oxymoron ourselves and we can never be free of something which is nothing else but us alone.
10) This was your début book, how was your experience using Voice Verso ?
Honestly, my experience was outstanding. It was awesome. I had thought of publishing my book for a very long time. But I was always intimidated by the entire process. Then I stumbled upon the voiceverso publishers. Not exaggerating things up but they really made the entire process as smooth as silk. They help at each step throughout the way and the result is this beauty, my début book Life in an oxymoron.
