VV Conversations – Pakhi Dixit author of the “The Next Sky”

At Voice Verso, we are always more than happy to welcome budding authors and new talents. The enthusiasm and zeal with which artists are coming up with their works these days are indeed commendable. We thought of interviewing one of our youthful author & poetess, Pakhi. She is an IT undergrad student from Manipal University, is involved and vocal in various social and entrepreneurial platforms and most importantly is the author of the book “The Next Sky: A poetic collection published by Voice Verso

1- Your poems revolve around depression and hope. What inspired you to write them?

I have been a very depressed person myself for over 2 to 3 years, as far as I remember. I
have been through it and came out successfully. And I am still trying not to sink again.

2- Would you like to give any message to youngsters who undergo depression?

There will be light at the end of the tunnel, only if you believe enough.

Hope is being able to see that there is light despite all of the darkness. Desmond Tutu

3- How would you describe your poems?

According to me, what breaks you makes you too, in some or the other way. Although you
may not realize it at that moment, in the end of the story, you will realize. I try writing
stuff that could connect people because heartbreaks are the only common thing all of us
share.

4- Your works are deep and connecting. How is the process of poem writing for you?

Self-infliction of pain and love.

5- At such a young age you have beautifully covered certain sensitive aspects of life in your poems. What are some quick tips you would like to give to budding poets?

Writing poems or for the matter of fact anything is not that tough, all you need is to feel
stuff and you are good to go. Feelings are the most important part.

6- What would you like to tell your readers?

To accept everything you face in life and stay at peace with it. Every winter turns to spring and there isn’t any second thought about it.

7- Please tell us about your next book.

Let me get it done first. It is a series of letters, to all the people who have been a very
important part of my life and now mean nothing to me.

8– Also, how was your publishing experience with Voice Verso? Would you suggest the platform to other budding authors?

The easiest platform so far, moreover the founder is super cooperative, professionally and
personally too. And when it comes to suggesting VoiceVerso to others, it is a big YES!

You can get Pakhi’s book here: The Next Sky.
