World’s first 2D curl based book writing & publishing platform.

The way any other industry (healthcare, shopping, finance etc.) have seen a “hockey stick” innovation, unfortunately, same cannot be said for publication.

The involved process of publishing today is same as it was 20 years ago.
You start with your plot, then you go for your rough draft, then you materialize it as a first draft and then you send it to some publishing houses and/or editors to foresee publishing opportunities. Literally, the process of publishing hasn’t changed a bit.

Now, we do agree that the reading experience, however, (with the emergence of Kindle, iBook etc.) have affected and may have hooked readers in a ceremonious way. But, book writing & publishing experience remains the same.

What if you do not have to email your Microsoft word doc manuscript to your publisher? What if you do not have to go with the hassle of iterations of editors, reviews, proofread etc.? What if you do not have to handle the tantrums of publishing houses at all? What if you do not have to do the dirty work of typesetting, content alignment, image alignment, and settings, margins, and border, page & pagination arrangements? What if you do not have to convert your last drafted novella in MS Word to paperback ready?
What if you have a digital book writing & publishing experience that looks more natural? What if your writing experience is so immersive that you feel as if you are writing using a physical pen and a book? What if you are able to “turn the pages” digitally, of your book while writing it?

Interesting, ain’t it? Well, there are a plethora of “what ifs”  and answer to all of them is one – Voice Verso. – A 2D Curl based Book like immersive Book writing & publishing canvas for authors & publishers. (Phew! Can’t believe we were able to get that out in one go, too long for a tagline, we know! We are working on it.)
So, what does this “2D Curl based Book like immersive….. ” mean?
Here’s your answer –

Voice Verso is a platform for authors & publishers to experience a Book like Book writing experience through immersive & interactive ‘turning pages’ canvas. It gives you an overall experience, as if you are writing a physical book. Making content alignment, pagination, et al, a cake walk.

Voice Verso features

Let’s get to know the intrinsic philosophy and how Voice Verso actually works? Shall we?

1) 2D Curl based Book Writing Immersive Canvas

By now, this feature must have engraved in your memory(haha). Well, using our proprietary technology, we are able to offer a What You See Is What You Get(WYSIWIG) based book writing immersive experience.  It helps authors and publishers to interact with the book, the way they will do with a physical one. So go ahead & keep “turning pages” to publish your book(s).

2) Autosaving

Start Writing a book, feeling a writer’s block? Spilled some coffee and unable to mobilise your writing juices due to over exposure of caffeine ? Well, do notice the “Last Saved” updates at the top right corner of the Canvas. So, start continuing your book from where you left off last.

3) Publish in 25+ regional Indian Languages

Technology is widely penetrating into different parts of our country & it is important to hear stories and read books from every regional language to keep up a strong literature ecosystem.  Voice Verso is all about that only. So, if you are comfortable with Hindi, publish your book in Hindi, or maybe Punjabi, what about Marathi? Oh, okay Tamil, why not? It’s all there.

4) Front Cover & Back Cover Designing

A Book is judged by its cover apart from its preface, acknowledgement & content overall. So, what we do? We give you not only pre justified template for Acknowledgement, Preface, Introduction, Pagination & Auto updated Table of Contents, but also you get access to design and upload  front cover images along with designing the back cover – Right from Author’s image, their bio & book’s blurb.

So, in overall conclusion –

If Writing is an art then book publishing should be one too.

VV Conversations – Sakshi Walia author of Life in an Oxymoron

VV Conversation with Sakshi Walia, author - Life in an Oxymoron

1) What inspired you to write this book?

Our existence is often found in paradoxes and inconsistency. We are all so lost in contradictions and confusions of life that we fail to appreciate or understand it. The thoughts like these made me feel awful, restless and drove me into a pool of complexities  dominated mainly by the questions about this world, my existence and the meaning of this life. There was so much happening within me that needed to be poured out. So, that is when I decided to vent out all my paradoxes, all my fears, all the bewilderment in the form of verses.

 2) According to you, what is a true oxymoron?

According to me, Oxymoron is bringing the two polar opposites, two completely different concepts together. However, if we base it on real-life I suppose, the meaning changes altogether. Each and every person is a perfect example of a living oxymoron. We make up and combine contradictory features and qualities be it in our thoughts, in our decisions, in our feelings, our emotions, vision and so on and so forth. Thus, I would say that every human who is in flesh and blood is an ideal oxymoron in himself.

3) How readers will connect with it?

Well, I suppose everyone has a time in their life when they start to question everything. Besides, the book touches upon the topics that are too common and thoroughly embedded in our day-to-day life. It is something we witness every day and something we think of every minute. The poems are about themes what each one of us experiences throughout their lifetime. So, that is how I feel the readers would be able to find a part of themselves in each poem penned in the book.

4) Verses are into 4 categories, why is that?

The entire book is categorised into 4 sections purposely. The first part acts as a prologue for the book. It is basically the words from the author, which explain the process of creation of the poem. Followed by this, there are 3 chapters names of which, if you notice carefully,  are the oxymoron. These oxymoron give a hint about what to expect in the poems mentioned in that particular chapter. They are symbolic and set the tone for what is to come next.

5) Book is completely in free verse. Why did you choose verses as the medium to share your understanding?

The book is not completely in free verse though. But yes, it sure is, dominated by the free verse style. Well, I think free verse or say prosaic poetry style is close to the 21st century. The minds of our times are rebellious, wanting to break all the barriers and bondage imposed on them. They don’t understand limitations, which is why I used the run on poetry to let it flow through their thoughts and be freely felt by their heart. Also, it is important to mention that Indian English poetry has always been a free verse poetry. Consider A.K. Ramanujan, Kamla, Das or Nissim Ezekiel such as. It has forever been close to the hearts of Indians and is thus, all the more relatable.

6) What key takeaways that readers will have from the book?

After reading the book, they shall feel their emotional nerve being hit. It would take them to a state of clarity. It would strike the cord and arouse a sense of empathy and pleasure in the readers. The poems have an implied meaning to them and thus, shall compel the readers to think and analyze the poems in the deepest of ways.

7) You seem to be juggling between college and your book, how did you manage that?

Oh, it has been too hard for me to manage to write and complete this book with the college. I had to struggle between performing the daily chores and then waiting for an inspiration to write a poem. I had been torn completely by trying to manage the academic pressure as well the book. But you know, poetry has always been my passion. And, I believe no matter how busy you get in life you always figure out ways and make time for what you love, for your passion.

8 ) Poetry is a subtle art of capturing world through life, what you believe that life in an oxymoron is trying to capture?

Life in an oxymoron is trying to capture the moments of conflicts, contradictions, and paradoxes in a person’s lifetime. It is bringing out the complicated feelings the maze of emotions, the flood of thoughts, the complexity of human relationships and intricate designs of understanding of self. It poses a question on everything and leads you on a journey of self-discovery.

9) How to lead a life without oxymoron? Is it possible?

Nehru has talked about how one can live without contradictions in his essay Indian philosophical approach from his book Discovery of India. He says that we have lost a sense of unity and harmony in our personalities that persisted in the people in the earlier eras. And sadly, we haven’t till now been able to find a unity in ourselves in the present era. This, he says, can only be achieved by trusting our instincts, by having and maintaining a social harmony and by understanding the last orderly law of universe with its connection to self. While it is hard to disagree with him, I feel it is impossible to get rid of oxymoron as today we have become the very oxymoron ourselves and we can never be free of something which is nothing else but us alone.

10) This was your début book, how was your experience using Voice Verso ?

Honestly, my experience was outstanding. It was awesome. I had thought of publishing my book for a very long time. But I was always intimidated by the entire process. Then I stumbled upon the voiceverso publishers. Not exaggerating things up but they really made the entire process as smooth as silk. They help at each step throughout the way and the result is this beauty, my début book Life in an oxymoron.
